5 Days of Favourites Day 3 - Bath & Body | Corinne Taylor, 100% Pure, Kaori review & discount code

Saturday, 29 December 2018

My favourite Bath & body products from 2018

It's already day 3 in the 5 Days of Favourites challenge! Today is bath and body (and other miscellaneous things that didn't fit into skincare!)

I'm a bit confused what to really put in this category as a lot of these products could also be seen as skincare, whose post was a few days back.

I decided that if it's used in the bath, or used on the body (insead of, or as well as) the face - then it can be featured here!

So, my favourite bath and body products of 2018! ~

Corinne Taylor Love room & linen mist, Corinne Taylor Flower water, Corinne Taylor bath melts

Corinne Taylor Room Mist

I only have one Corinne Taylor Room & Linen Mist in the scent 'Love'.

I picked Love as it seemed the closest option to the type of scent I like.

The product photo shows a bottle of Love with a rose quartz, it gives a fruity, feminine feel. However, the first time I received and tried the product I actually felt it was more of a masculine scent. It took a few uses for it to grow on me, but now I love it and would definitely repurchase!

The key notes of fragrance are: Organic Rose Geranium, Patchouli, Rosewood and Vanilla Essential oils. Originally, if I were to guess the scents I'd have said pine, sandalwood, with maybe vanilla and cinnamon. But after reading the ingredients, I can definitely distinguish the rose scents!

Ingredients: Spring Water, Witch Hazel, Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Organic Rose Geranium Essential Oil, Organic Rosewood Essential Oil, Organic Patchouli Essential Oil, Organic Vanilla Essential Oil.

This is also a festive season kind of scent so it's perfect for gifting at this time of year! I gifted a bottle to my mother this year who enjoyed it and agreed how fitting the scent was for the season.

This is also the only natural fragrance I know of to date.

The expiry date is printed on the bottom, on mine it says '08/05/20' which is over 2 years for a 100ml bottle, very good!

100% Pure Lavender & Seaweed detox Bath salts

100% Pure bath salts

The 100% Pure Bath Salts are definitely one of my favourite products this year, and probably every year!

I have the Lavender and Seaweed Detox varients and I have loved using them both over this year.

I think they're pretty standard bath salts in terms of useage, just pour some in the warm water and you're done.

They don't really have any major effect on the water, it sometimes feels a little more slippery or has bit's in, that's about it.

But what I love is the scent and relaxation elements of them. The Lavender varients smells like... well, lavender, thankfully. The Seaweed Detox on the other hand is a bit more tricky to determine it's scent. I'd say the scents in order would be: 1. Mint, very minty, 2. Lemon?, 3. Ginger?

Something interesting about the Seaweed Detox bath salts is the affect it has on cats. Yes, you read that right, I meant cats.

I'd clumsily dropped my jar of Seaweed Detox bath salts over this section of the rug. I cleaned them up but it still was heavily scented of them. When my cat ventures into the room, she wouldn't stop sniffing and rolling over the area I dropped them. I have to wonder what they contain that's giving my cat that reaction?

And yes, you guessed correctly, the expiry is 6 months. Actually, it's not too bad since each bath uses a good amount and I bath a lot.

Corinne Taylor Flower Water

The Corinne Taylor Flower Water is one of my favourite products of 2018!

I'm a little unsure where to put this since it's more of a skincare item for me, but it can be used for body as well as face. I use this after my skincare routine as an extra refreshing and hydrating step, I'd imagine it also works well when used on the body too though!

The product is a bit strange to look at, the liquid is cloudy and has visible orange, floaty, oily bits along the top. It looks a little like something that's expired and so I had to check the date the first time I used this. Thankfully, that's all, the rest of it is all great!

It sprays on very finely, which is something I worry about with spray products. I tightly close my eyes, scrunch my face up, and hope for the best. Luckily, it sprays a very fine mist which is perfectly pleasant and worry free.

The scent is one of the best parts of this product. It has a lovely floral scent, just like the name suggests it would - but better!

The expiration date is only 6 months for this 100ml product, which could be a little wasteful if you're only using it for facial skincare. I'd like to see a mini version of this available, a 50ml would be perfect!

Corrine Taylor Organic Bath Melts review
Corrine Taylor Organic Bath Melts

Corinne Taylor Organic Bath Melts

While I haven't actually used any Corinne Taylor Organic Bath Melts myself, they're featured in the photo, so I should mention them.

While I haven't used these personally, I did gift them to my mother so here's a short review on what she had to say about them!

They had a lovely scent to them and were easy and simple to use. I liked how detailed the shape of them was, like little sea shells. They did made the bath a little slippy though!

So in all, I'd say that's a pretty good review!

Update: I've now had the chance to try these out myself! I can definitely agree that they make the bath slippy, the packet does warn of this, so stick to the recommended usage and read the instructions before use!

The packet recommends using 1-2 melts per bath, I used two in my bath and I think you'd only really need one! I don't have a small bath or anything but they certainly filled the entire baths worth of water with ease. They dissolve, or melt I should probably say, then the bath water has a glistening look to it and soft feel.

The scent reminds me of a certain white orange chocolate but I can't think which. Overall I enjoyed these and would repurchase!

100% Pure Coconut Butter Soap

Next from 100% Pure, we have the 100% Pure Coconut Butter Soap.

I can't actually remember why I purchased this to begin with I'm glad I did because I ended up liking it. I mean, it's just a soap, nothing extra un-soapy about it or anything but I just like it so it made the favourites list.

On arrival, this soap is also really nicely packaged, so there's that too! It'd make a cute gift!

This soap is unscented and lathers well for a natural product.

Kaori Natural Soap

Kaori Face Wash Soap

Also on the subject of soaps, there's the Kaori Face Wash Soap.

This is a Japanese product which I obtained from CDJapan.

I know it says it's a 'face wash soap' aka skincare, but I only use it when in the bath so I put in the bath post.

Again, nothing really stands out about this soap. It's just nice to use and is a nice natural soap, I would certainly repurchase when it runs out.

The ingredients for this soap are a little tricky to work out with them being in Japanese, but CDJapan state the following ingredients in English:

100% Extra Virgin Oil, Tea Leaves Essential, Hydrolyzed Collagen

You can buy the Kaori Face Wash Soap from Japan here, or you can try out a mini 20g version (this is the version I have) for just £3 here!

That's everything on today's post! Tomorrow is day 4 which is lingerie day!

You can use my referral link here to get a 25% discount code at Corinne Taylor!

Thank you for reading!

PS: I hope you all enjoyed that spotty kitty tummy because she never shows her tummy normally.
